Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases such as eth titans aren't affected in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or effect while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or received as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out."
