Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item upgrader mod or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies or as rewards from missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from the previous versions in a few key ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level however the materials required aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

When an item is leveled out and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes available for it and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item doesn't reach its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will have a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a structure, engineers will utilize a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point, like a benchmark, or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the level and backsight rod before turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly enhance an item's strength and damage as well as other characteristics. You can do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item upgrader kit. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable Best item upgrade. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item upgrader.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This could be good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the item's power by a specific percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher your chance of getting a unique bonus.

The game also features a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on a unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling is a method to create a more powerful character faster, allowing you to progress in the game and achieve higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in a variety of ways. They can be of different sizes, have no elements, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some are not. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already extensive.

Set items can be upgraded to include specific procs that are useful for specific builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to par with the tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and improve their performance in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when they are updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial increase in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
