Path of Exile item upgrades Upgrading
item upgrading [www.google.ps`s latest blog post] allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade item.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players must select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs by a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will increase its features. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For instance, a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes available for it and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade process requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item fails to reach its max level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of material, though it will have a lower chance of success.
To determine the height of a structure engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to the highest level of accuracy and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrader kit. It is a crucial element of the game that can improve the damage, strength or other attributes. You can do this via the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling can be costly and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to earn tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or a negative thing depending on your needs and wants from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.
The game also includes several sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is a good method to give the character more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, which allows you to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.
