World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This value is the total of all of its leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when waiting to queue for dungeons and raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the potency of gear when they decide to buy or sell. It's a sign of the damage and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the item's level.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory states that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine the value of an item's stats really are. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets increase the value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, as the level of the area the Best item upgrade is dropped into can change the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A white or grey item for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats on an item upgrade is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all sizes and shapes. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an additional name to the item.

At present, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circling arrows. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade item an item by a specific stat or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the specified range, unless it's an item that is unique or a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to increase. But, like base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item level, and the item compare interface will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

item upgrader mod Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous in early game runs because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be created or spawned using the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be purchased from the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their item in the event that it is not successful.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has a base success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases that chance by five percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
