GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Like the name suggests, the GE Profile series targets those who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into their kitchen. This refrigerator is packed with these, from an inside-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator costs an extra amount, I'd like to see better.
This fridge is a great choice, despite the blip. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it holds a good amount of frozen food when compared to similar models.
Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a fridge with a French door at this price. It also has a decent sized ice maker packed into the left door, but it's not the biggest I've seen.
You can alter the shelves in both compartments to create a an individual storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is good-looking, too. Its LED lighting is a nice addition and the inside storage bins come with a third shelf that folds up beneath itself to allow you to store tall items. The drawers come with temperature controls so you can set them for Beverage, Meat or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings to be a little difficult on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a complete set of features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and has many options for customizing. It will also send you notifications when the door is left unlocked and when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter needs to be changed.
It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill it's an option in other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. The fridge displays a countdown to reveal how much water remains but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

One of the best features of this refrigerator is that the ice maker is inside the freezer, which makes it simple to move ice into the fridge to be used when it is needed. The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those who want to combine the look and feel of a french door style fridge freezer-door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model, and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also less expensive than the top counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, which makes it an attractive option.

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option for those looking for a french door retro fridge-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a basic refrigerator which may not be as eye-catching as its rivals however, it does have enough features to make it a suitable option. Its main feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent ice maker that operates quickly.
The "Chill Drawer", which is located above the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. The drawer lets you use some of the fridge's cooling power into this area, so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. You can alter this feature by using an adjustable slider that is located just in the middle of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.
During my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the fridge didn't differ much from 38 degrees. This is a great performance however it doesn't rank among the best in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer for more precise readings of your fridge's temperature.
The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge proof" finish. It does an excellent job of removing streaks and fingerprints, even compared to glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
