The 10 Most Terrifying Things About Item Upgrading
From Shiapedia
Path of Exile item upgrading (autoexotic.lv says)
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or received from chests or missions. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the material or component needed to make that happen.
There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they're "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several pieces.
This allows the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
After a piece has been upgraded to the maximum level, it will be able to receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For example the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes to choose from, whereas legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an Best item upgrader is not able to reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials, though it will have lower chances of success.
To measure the height of a building engineers employ an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point, like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level and then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item upgrader and damage as well as other attributes. This can be accomplished through the item menu or pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be handled with care.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or an item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you would be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than other. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could come with a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added in addition to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the better your chances of receiving a unique bonus.
The game also includes number set that grants the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on a unit. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.
Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. This is because rerolling can give players a faster path to a powerful character, allowing them to reach high tiers and progress the game faster.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different sizes, have no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.
There are many set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the quality of the item upgrader mod's stats when as compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have a lot of armor pieces or weapons.
Some set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions which can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the character screen. The attributes of the item upgrader mod will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the requirements for upgrading specific items.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. It will also boost the defense of armor with an updated appearance.
