Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be used. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Using a Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs close to key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance, a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.
Leveling
